For a genuine two-person experience, a larger freestanding or deep soaker tub with wider dimensions would be a more comfortable and therapeutic choice.

A soaking tub refers to the depth and fill level of the tub — designed for full-body immersion covering the chest and shoulders. An alcove tub refers to the installation type — set into a three-wall enclosure. These are not mutually exclusive; a 60-inch alcove tub can also be a deep soaking tub, combining space-efficient installation with therapeutic water depth.

The shell is the surface you see, feel and stand on, and it is the most expensive component of a jetted bath. A thin shell with light reinforcement raises the risk of flexing floors and cracking over time, which is one reason some companies offer short warranties. Our baths use some of the thickest cast acrylic available, with up to 200-300% more reinforcing material and floors layered with fiberglass and wood.

Read for two things: how long parts are covered, and whether labor is covered at all.
